Creation versus evolution theory debate

In 1859 Darwin published his theory of evolution with in a book titled "On the Origin of Species". This started the debate about creation versus evolution theory. On the side of creation are those who believe that life on earth was created by a creator. On the other side are the evolution theorists, who deny a creator, but believe in a (not necessarily Darwinian) theory of evolution in which only "natural" processes play a role, instead of acts of creation by a creator. In this article, a balanced overview of arguments in this debate is given.
